Presentation Overview
This webinar is being presented in collaboration with Edmonton’s Sexual Exploitation Working Group (SEWG) during the Sexual Exploitation Week of Awareness.
Father Shay Cullen, founder of the Preda Foundation in Olongapo City in the Philippines, is an internationally known advocate for human rights, focusing on exploited women, children, and youth. His presentation will provide global context on the issue of human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation, including insight into the current situation in South East Asia. He will provide an overview of The Preda Foundation’s ongoing work, with an emphasis on innovative initiatives. The presentation will highlight the legal implications associated with the sexual exploitation of children and young adult and sex tourism, and will speak to the evolution of laws in countries around the world.
The presentation will wrap up with comments by Kate Quinn, the Executive Director of the Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation (CEASE) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Kate will ground the presentation the Canadian context.
We will call our webinar participants to action by sharing specific activities that can be done to help combat human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

Shay Cullen is a missionary priest from Ireland, a member of the Missionary Society of St. Columban and Founder and President of Preda Foundation since 1975. He has worked protecting women and children from sex slavery and promoting human rights, peace, and non-violence in the Philippines, and around the world, since 1969.
